Title
A resolution to call a Special Election to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of At-Large, Division B Councilman Clayton Faucheux, Jr.
Body
WHEREAS,      Councilman Clayton Faucheux, Jr., At-Large, Division B has resigned from office as a member of the St. Charles Parish Council effective November 30, 2013; and,
WHEREAS,      in accordance with Article III Section A, 6, of the St. Charles Parish Home Rule Charter, if the unexpired portion of the term is more than one year, the vacancy shall be filled by special election called by the Parish Council within sixty (60) days after the vacancy occurs and held in not more than six months nor less than three months.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby call a Special Election to fill the At-Large, Division B vacancy on the St. Charles Parish Council with the Primary Election to be held on April 5, 2014 and the General Election to be held on May 3, 2014.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the qualifying dates for said election are hereby set for February 12, 2014, February 13, 2014, and February 14, 2014.
