Title
A resolution asking that Governor Mike Foster assist the St. Charles Parish Council and the St. Charles Parish President by requesting assistance from FEMA to co-exist with the current FEMA relief efforts from Tropical Storm Isidore and Hurricane Lili in obtaining aid for residents of Almedia Plantation, St. Rose, who were recently affected by a tornado.
Body
WHEREAS, the residents of Almedia Plantation were directly affected by a tornado that hit the Almedia Plantation area on November 5, 2002; and,
WHEREAS, there were five homes totally destroyed and nine homes received damage in the Almedia Plantation area as a direct result of this act of nature; and,
WHEREAS, the damages resulting from this disaster are so severe and of a high magnitude that assistance from FEMA is deemed necessary in order to relieve the suffering of the citizens of Almedia Plantation in St. Charles Parish.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL do hereby ask that Governor Mike Foster assist the St. Charles Parish Council and the St. Charles Parish President by requesting assistance from FEMA to co-exist with the current FEMA relief efforts from Tropical Storm Isidore and Hurricane Lili in obtaining aid for residents of Almedia Plantation, St. Rose, who were recently affected by a tornado.

And the resolution was declared adopted this day of , 2002, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
