IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Erika Laken Beck is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Destrehan, Louisiana with her parents Vivian and Eric Beck, and her brother Brock; and,
WHEREAS, Erika is currently enrolled as a business student at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette after graduating in 2012 with an Associate's Degree in Business from Louisiana State University at Eunice (LSUE); and,
WHEREAS, Erika is a parishioner of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Norco. She is an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a member of the LaBranche Wetland Watchers, German Coast Farmer's Market, American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, St. Charles Parish Farm Bureau; she has participated in the American Lung Association's Fight for Air Walk, United Way of St. Charles Hale Boggs Bridge Run, and visits and entertains residents of the Ormond Nursing Home in Destrehan; and,
WHEREAS, while attending LSU at Eunice, Erika was an honor student and received LSUE's Woman of Excellence Award, Character Education Citizenship Award, and was chosen Miss LSUE 2011; and,
WHEREAS, on November 10, 2012, Erika was crowned River Parishes Fall Festival Miss Queen of Hearts and was invited to participate in the Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals Queen of Queens pageant held on February 23, 2013 in Baton Rouge; and,
WHEREAS, Erika won the best interview award and was crowned Louisiana Queen of Queens 2013, making her the first River Parishes Festival queen to win this state title.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
