IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Joseph Jessie Louviere was born on December 6, 1909 and raised in Gheens, Louisiana to the proud parents of the late Gillis and Lucille Matherne Louviere; and,
WHEREAS, Jessie, as he is known, moved to Paradis, Louisiana as a young man where he later met and married the late Alice Elizabeth Laughlin on November 18, 1931; together they raised five children: Mary L. Gros wife of Melvin P. Gros, Sr., Peggy L. Sanchez, wife of Irving P. Sanchez, Sr., Naomi L. Griffin, wife of Harry Griffin, Sr., Joseph J. Louviere, Jr., husband of Sylvia F. Louviere, and David J. Louviere, husband of Cheryl C. Louviere; and,
WHEREAS, from his five Children, Jessie has been blessed with seventeen Grandchildren, 30 Great-Grandchildren, and 10 Great-Great Grandchildren; and,
WHEREAS, as a young man, Jessie worked as a rough neck at Avondale Shipyards then later worked at Villere Marine as a Crane Operator until his retirement. He enjoys gardening and farming; and,
WHEREAS, Jessie celebrated his 100th birthday on December 6, 2009, with family and friends.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
JOSEPH JESSIE LOUVIERE
ON HIS
100TH BIRTHDAY
