IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish Department of Emergency Preparedness has been in operation since 1980 and is a vital Department in St. Charles Parish Government; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish Department of Emergency Preparedness provides the necessary plans and protection of life and property for the residents of St. Charles Parish and maintains a stay of readiness in case of an emergency; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish Department of Emergency Preparedness is staffed by eight full-time employees with Tab Troxler as the Department Director; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish Department of Emergency Preparedness was recommended for the Excellence in Government Award through the Bureau of Governmental Research by Councilwoman Darnell "Dee" Abadie; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish Department of Emergency Preparedness received "The Oschner Award" along with $250.00 in recognition of its new Hazard and Vulnerability Analysis Computer Program; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish Department of Emergency Preparedness designed a comprehensive 387 listing database to be used in the event of a disaster; and,
WHEREAS, the database, a two year project was the brainchild of Mr. Troxler, and developed by the Department of Emergency Preparedness Staff, Laurie Adams, George Guedry, Jim Polk, Brandon Touchard, Aaron Ertel, Dee Matherne, and Jason Tastet. The database was designed from scratch at no additional cost to the Parish of St. Charles.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
ST. CHARLES PARISH DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
