Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a Contract for Engineering Services with EVANS-GRAVES ENGINEERS, INC. for necessary professional engineering services associated with Parish Project No. P081102 Major Canal Bank Stabilizations.
Body
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Council desires to have the following described project undertaken:
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Engineering services for Parish Project No. P081102 Major Canal Bank Stabilizations. The service will include but will not be limited to serving as Owner's professional engineering representative for the Project, providing professional engineering consultation and advice, and furnishing customary civil, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering services and construction engineering and inspection; and,
WHEREAS, because the erosion in these canals spans from severe to moderate in non-continuous lengths, a comprehensive approach parish wide is required to repair them cost effectively; and,
WHEREAS, because of the complexity of the project, it will be implemented in the following phases so as to better control project timing and cost:
Phase 1 - Study and Prioritize Areas of Required Canal Bank Stabilization
Phase 2 - Dunleith Canal Stabilization (East Bank)
Phase 3 - New Sarpy No. 1 Canal Stabilization (East Bank)
Phase 4 - New Sarpy No. 2 Canal Stabilization (East Bank)
Phase 5 - Primrose Canal Stabilization (West Bank)
Phase 6 - Willowdale Canal Stabilization (West Bank)
Phase 7 - Identification of Funding Sources
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the contract for Engineering Services between EVANS-GRAVES ENGINEERS, INC. and the Parish of St. Charles is hereby approved.
