Title
An ordinance to amend the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances, Appendix C, Section IV. E., by requiring that subdivision entrance marquees that are designed be located on private property rather than on public servitude.
Body
WHEREAS,      Entrances to subdivisions typically include subdivision marquees; and,
WHEREAS,      Subdivision marquees are typically located on public servitude; and,
WHEREAS,      This places liability and responsibility for maintenance on the Parish of St. Charles; and,
WHEREAS,      It is the desire of the St. Charles Parish Council to reduce parish liability by requiring that subdivision marquees that are built shall be placed on private property belonging to the developer of said subdivision.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I.  That the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances, Appendix C, Section IV. E. is hereby amended by adding the following:
 
7.      Subdivision Entrance Marquees. If marquee(s) for subdivision is to be designed for placement at subdivision entrance, said marquee(s) shall be placed on private property owned by the developer.
