IN MEMORIAM
WHEREAS, on June 16, 2007, Almighty God, in His Infinite Wisdom, saw fit to call from amongst us one of His most worthy servants, John "Steve" Sirmon, Sr.; and,
WHEREAS, Steve Sirmon was a native of Luling, LA and a lifelong resident of St. Charles Parish. He was dedicated to his family, his loving wife Joette, and his children Carrie, Steve Jr. and Tim. He is the son of William and Dot Sirmon; and,
WHEREAS, Steve Sirmon served as Councilman at Large, Division B of St. Charles Parish for 4 years, Public Information Officer of St. Charles Parish for 7 years, and Registrar of Voters for St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, Steve Sirmon was instrumental in developing St. Charles Parish's budding Recreation Department, the Council on Aging, and many parish ordinances that improve the quality of life for citizens of St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, Steve Sirmon will be deeply missed not only by his family, friends, and co-workers, but also by the many residents of St. Charles Parish that he assisted throughout his years of service; and,
WHEREAS, on behalf of all citizens of St. Charles Parish, the Parish Council and the Parish President wish to posthumously honor Steve Sirmon as an outstanding and dedicated Public Servant of the Parish of St. Charles.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, duly assembled on this 3rd day of December, 2007, do hereby express our sincere sympathy to the family of
John "Steve" Sirmon, Sr.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that when this meeting is adjourned, it shall be done in memory of Steve Sirmon.
