Title
A resolution requesting the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development perform a traffic study to determine the feasibility of the installation of flashing caution lights at the intersection of LA Highway 3127 and LA Highway 3141, 3160, and 3142 in St. Charles Parish.
Body
WHEREAS, LA 3127 is a very heavily traveled roadway; and,
WHEREAS, LA 3127 is an evacuation route for Residents of St. Charles Parish and Parishes east of St. Charles; and,
WHEREAS, LA 3127 is not a very well lighted highway making turning onto and off of very dangerous; and,
WHEREAS, several major accidents have occurred with fatalities, the latest being the weekend of June 27th.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request that the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development perform a traffic study to determine the feasibility of the installation of flashing caution lights at the intersection of LA Highway 3127 and LA Highway 3141, 3160, and 3142 in St. Charles Parish.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Senator Joel T. Chaisson, II and Representative Gary L. Smith, Jr. requesting their assistance on this matter.

And the resolution was declared adopted this day of , 2009, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
