Title
A resolution supporting the application for the inclusion of a high priority sewer system improvement in the Louisiana Office of Community Development Local Government Assistance Program.
Body
WHEREAS, Louisiana Legislature House Bill 2 (Act 27) allocated $10 million for a community assistance program for local governments; and,
WHEREAS, the amount available to each parish for the fiscal year is $144,000; and,
WHEREAS, sewer system improvements qualify for the allocated funding; and,
WHEREAS, the Magnolia Ridge Sewer Lift Station is unable to sustain the demands of the increased residential development in the area it supports and during rain events is subject to overflows, which would be in violation of State Sanitary Codes; and,
WHEREAS, the installation of a new wet well, valve chamber, duplex electrical control panel, and security locks was recommended to alleviate the potential for overflows; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish President and the Department of Wastewater requests the Council's support for the application to have this recommended improvement included in the Louisiana Office of Community Development Local Government Assistance Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, hereby provide this resolution in support of the application for the inclusion of a high priority sewer system improvement in the Louisiana Office of Community Development Local Government Assistance Program.
