Title
A resolution to amend Resolution No. 6242, calling a special election to be held in the Parish of St. Charles, State of Louisiana, to authorize the continuation of special taxes (recreation & elderly) therein; making application to the State Bond Commission in connection therewith; and providing for other matters in connection therewith.

WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Council adopted Resolution No. 6242 on September 19, 2016, calling a special election to authorize the continuation of special taxes (recreation & elderly); and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to revise said Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby revise Section 1. to read as follows:
AS WRITTEN
PROGRAMS FOR THE ELDERLY TAX CONTINUATION PROPOSITION
Shall Parish of St. Charles, State of Louisiana (the "Parish"), continue to levy and collect a special tax of one (1.00) mill on all property subject to taxation in said Parish (an estimated $1,256,100 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2018 and ending with the year 2027, for the purpose of constructing, improving, maintaining and operating facilities and programs for the elderly in the Parish through the St. Charles Council on Aging Incorporated, said millage to represent a two hundredths of a mill (.02) increase over the .98 mills tax authorized to be levied through the year 2017 pursuant to an election held on February 9, 2008?
