IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Very Reverend Stephen Dardis, V.F. "Father Steve" is a resident of Luling, Louisiana in St. Charles Parish and Pastor of Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling; and,
WHEREAS, Reverend Dardis, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, is the son of Mr. & Mrs. John Joseph and Anne Charbonnet Dardis, and is one of 10 children; and,
WHEREAS, Reverend Dardis was ordained a Catholic Priest on December 15, 2012, in Rome at Saint John Lateran Basilica as a member of the Legionaries of Christ Roman Catholic Religious Order; and,
WHEREAS, before coming to Luling, Reverend Dardis entered the Archdiocese of New Orleans in 2015 as Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Slidell, as well as Chaplain at Christian Brothers School, St Charles Catholic High School, and Pope John Paul II High School; and,
WHEREAS, Reverend Dardis was assigned as Pastor to Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling on July 1, 2018 and will be ending his term here on June 30, 2024; and,
WHEREAS, Reverend Dardis served as the Dean of the St. Charles - St. John Deanery for the Archdioceses of New Orleans and strove to build a more united faith Community from 2020 until 2024; and,
WHEREAS, in his six years as Pastor, Reverend Dardis helped coordinate significant faith-based relief efforts throughout the Parish following Hurricane Ida and served on the faith-based Collaboration Committee with St. Charles Parish Public Schools. He organized numerous material and spiritual outreach opportunities for youth, families, and couples. He has completed several renovations at Holy Family Church which include: the renovated Life Center, enhanced drainage, and numerous adornments to the Church itself.
