Title
A resolution stating St. Charles Parish's interest in participation in the Louisiana Enterprise Zone Program and designation of Enterprise Zones.
Body
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Enterprise Zone Act La. R.S. 51:1781-1791 offers significant incentives for economic development in the State; and,
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Department of Economic Development has designated certain 2010 Census Tracts and Block Groups in the State as Enterprise Zone eligible based on demographic and economic factors; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish of St. Charles requests that the following Census Tract and Block Group be designated as an Enterprise Zone in lieu of the original qualified Census Tract and Block Group; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish of St. Charles states this change is in agreement with their Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Louisiana Enterprise Zone Program requirements the Parish of St. Charles agrees:
1. To participate in the Enterprise Zone Program.
2. To assist the department in evaluating progress made in any Enterprise Zone within its jurisdiction.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL do hereby request the new zone location shown below be designated by the Louisiana Board of Commerce and Industry as an Enterprise Zone in lieu of the original zone location.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED if any provision or item of this resolution or the application thereof is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions, items or applications of this resolution which can be given effect without the invalid provisions, items or applications and to this end the provisions of this resolution are hereby declared severable.
