Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a Contract for Engineering Services with Civil & Environmental Consulting Engineers for necessary professional engineering services associated with Parish Project No. P090203 Upgrade the Boutte Pump Station.
Body
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Council desires to have the following described project undertaken:
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Engineering services for Parish Project No. P090203 UPGRADE THE BOUTTE PUMP STATION. The service will include but will not be limited to serving as Owner's professional engineering representative for the Project, providing professional engineering consultation and advice, and furnishing customary civil, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering services and construction engineering and inspection; and,
WHEREAS, The existing station foundation and deck is failing and the existing pumps are old and beyond repair; and,
WHEREAS, this project will refurbish the station deck, replace both pumps with properly sized units, fence in the station and provide for a place to set an emergency generator, and install a canopy to insure pumping capacity and reliability.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the contract for Engineering Services between Civil & Environmental Consulting Engineers and the Parish of St. Charles is hereby approved.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the Parish of St. Charles.

And the ordinance was declared adopted this ______ day of ___________, 2009 to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
