Title
An ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 04-6-7, adopted June 7, 2004, by the St. Charles Parish Council creating a Citizens' Recycling Committee to address the recycling concerns in St. Charles Parish and advise the Council to improve participation, to amend Committee Membership.
Body
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. Amend Section I. and Section II. of said ordinance as follows:
AS WRITTEN
SECTION I. A Citizens Committee consisting of NINE Members is created effective the date of this ordinance consisting of ONE interested citizen from each council District and one member representing the Administration, preferably with knowledge of recycling/disposal plus ONE enthusiastic school student from the Parish School system representing the School Board.
SECTION II. Councilman from each district will recommend one nominee and the committee members will be confirmed by the Council as a whole. The Committee should meet a minimum of one time per quarter and will function for one year on a trail basis, after which the Council can make this Committee a Council Committee.
REVISED
SECTION I. A Citizens Committee consisting of Members is created effective the date of this ordinance consisting of a citizen and/or an alternate from each Council District and ONE member representing the Administration, preferably with knowledge of recycling/disposal plus two enthusiastic school students from the Parish School System, one from each bank of the River, representing the School Board.
SECTION II. Councilman from each district will recommend one nominee and/or alternate, the committee members will be confirmed by the Council as a whole. The Committee should meet a minimum of one time per quarter and will function for one year on a trail basis, after which the Council can make this Committee a Council Committee.
