Title
An ordinance, in accordance with LSA-R.S. 33:2877, to declare that the Lots 10, 11, 12, Square 2, Cloverleaf Subdivision, Lots 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, Square 105, New Sarpy Subdivision, and Lot 20, Square 105, New Sarpy Subdivision, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana, is needed for a public purpose.

WHEREAS, based on information provided by and on behalf of the Pontchartrain Levee District, Lots 10, 11, 12, Square 2, Cloverleaf Subdivision, Lots 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15, Square 105 New Sarpy Subdivision and Lot 20, Square 105, New Sarpy Subdivision are needed for a public purpose in that they underlie and/or are adjacent to the East Bank Hurricane Protection Levee in St. Charles Parish, and these lots are essential for the enhancement of flood protection for the citizens and property of St. Charles Parish, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, said property has been adjudicated to St. Charles Parish, and in accordance with LSA-R.S. 33:2877, it is necessary to declare (1) that said property is necessary for a public purpose; (2) that it is St. Charles Parish's intention to acquire said property free of any other administration by the State Land Office; and (3) that St. Charles Parish assumes all liability in connection with said property; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish desires to acquire the subject property for the public purpose of flood protection of and for the citizens and property of St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish President is authorized to sign an Act declaring St. Charles Parish's intent to acquire said property, said Act is attached hereto and made a part hereof; and,
WHEREAS, upon the completion of the requirements of LSA-R.S. 33:2877 et seq, it is the intent of St. Charles Parish to transfer said property to the Pontrchartrain Levee District for the enhancement of flood protection for the citizens an...
