RESOLUTION NO. 6282
Title
A resolution requesting that the St. Charles Parish President inquire into obtaining and applying "LOVE The Boot Don't Pollute" bumper stickers to all parish vehicles.
Body
WHEREAS, the Keep Louisiana Beautiful organization founded in 2000 focuses on education, enforcement, awareness, litter removal, and beautification; and,
WHEREAS, the Keep Louisiana Beautiful organization's goal is to raise awareness about the problem of littering in Louisiana and take positive steps to make it right; and,
WHEREAS, the Keep Louisiana Beautiful organization feels that with one slogan and one voice we can end a history of litter in Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, Louisiana's new anti-litter slogan is "LOVE The Boot Don't Pollute", which means that we actively take care of it, honoring its resources and protecting its beauty and ecology; and,
WHEREAS, state agencies have applied over 12,000 "LOVE The Boot Don't Pollute", bumper stickers to state vehicles with more to come and encourages businesses, municipalities, environmental organizations, and individuals who have a passion for keeping our state clean and green to do the same so that the slogan becomes familiar and instantly recognizable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request that the St. Charles Parish President inquire into obtaining and applying "LOVE The Boot Don't Pollute" bumper stickers to all parish vehicles.
The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
YEAS: HOGAN, WILSON, CLULEE, GIBBS, WOODRUFF, BELLOCK, FISHER-PERRIER
NAYS: FLETCHER
ABSENT: BENEDETTO
And the resolution was declared adopted this 17th day of April , 2017, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
