Title
A resolution in support of the St. Charles Parish Eastbank Multi-Use Path, Phase VI, extending from the West Guide levee of the Bonnet Carre Spillway in Montz to the St. Charles/St. John the Baptist Parish line.
Body
WHEREAS, an application was submitted for funding through the Louisiana DOTD's Transportation Enhancement Program (TEP) for funding in the amount of $973,800.00 for construction of the St. Charles Parish Eastbank Multi-Use Path, Phase VI, extending approximately 2.9 miles from the West Guide levee of the Bonnet Carre Spillway in Montz to the St. Charles/St. John the Baptist Parish line; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish was notified on October 31, 2011, by way of letter from Ms. Valerie Horton, TEP Manager, that the project was selected to be included in the Transportation Enhancement Program; and,
WHEREAS, the project requires that St. Charles Parish provide matching funds (95% federal share/5% local share) in the amount of $51,200.00 as the local sponsor; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Parish Council to support said project as the local sponsor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby certify that St. Charles Parish will assume full responsibility for the required local match; for design engineering, construction administration and testing; for managing and maintaining the project; and for any legal liability incurred as a result of the project.
