IN   RECOGNITION
 
WHEREAS,      Haylie Lloyd is the 10 year old daughter of Curtis and Brooke Lloyd of Destrehan, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS,      Haylie is a fifth grade student at Sacred Heart School in Norco, where she is on the Principal's List and is the recipient of the National Fitness Award; and,
WHEREAS,      Haylie served as 4-H Treasurer and is a member of her school choir, drama club, and cheerleading squad; and,
WHEREAS,      Haylie plays volleyball, basketball, and softball and enjoys ice skating and swimming; and,
WHEREAS,      Haylie's ambition in life is to become a lawyer; and,
WHEREAS,      Haylie was crowned Junior Queen IV in the 4th Annual Festival of Charities Pageant on April 11, 2010, at Ormond Plantation in Destrehan; and,
WHEREAS,      the Festival of Charities is a non-profit organization that started in October 2007, whose goal is to celebrate the lives of many special individuals in our Community and State by showing that beauty and care have no boundaries.  The organization benefits the Down Syndrome Association of Greater New Orleans, The ARC of St. Charles, and many other area charitable organizations; and,
WHEREAS,      as Junior Queen, Haylie will represent the Festival of Charities at local and parish events as well as travel the State of Louisiana raising awareness of the Organization's Mission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
