Title
A resolution to approve and authorize the execution of a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between the State of Louisiana, Division of Administration and St. Charles Parish for funding to complete the East Bank "C" Plant Filter Upgrade Project.
Body
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish submitted a Water Sector Program application to request funding for the East Bank "C" Plant Filter Upgrade Project; and,
WHEREAS, the project will help adequately meet the current and future water demands from the East Bank customers by bringing the existing water system up to code, avoiding system failure, allowing the water production to remain consistent, and ensuring that the operations of the East Bank Plant can continue unhindered and avoid violations that may affect the health and safety of St. Charles Parish residents; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with Act 410 of the 2021 Regular Legislative Session, the Water Sector Commission has recommended project funding for St. Charles Parish in accordance with its application to the Water Section Program; and,
WHEREAS, sufficient funds are included in the Parish's 2022 Budget to fund the local share of the project; and,
WHEREAS, the State has prepared a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement to provide funding for the project and it is the desire of the Parish Council to approve said Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby approve and authorize the execution of a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between the State of Louisiana, Division of Administration and St. Charles Parish for funding to complete the East Bank "C" Plant Filter Upgrade Project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said agreement and to act on behalf of St. Charles Parish in all matters pertaining to this project, including certifying requests for State disbursements.
