Title
A resolution to authorize the Department of Community Services to participate in the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Program as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Site for low to moderate income taxpayers.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Community Services has applied to participate as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Site to allow low to moderate income taxpayers to file taxes free of charge; and,
WHEREAS, said Program is administered by the Louisiana Department of Social Services and it is the desire of the Parish Council to approve and support the application of the Department of Community Services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby approve and support the application of the Department of Community Services to serve as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Site and do hereby authorize the Parish President to execute any and all documents necessary to implement the Program.
