Title
A resolution to approve the Revised Pay Plan for Civil Service Employees.
Body
WHEREAS,      due to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, it is necessary to adjust the starting salaries of Civil Service Employees to be more competitive with today's market; and,
WHEREAS,      the starting pay on the current pay plan was last adjusted in 2003 and since that time employees have received Cost of Living adjustments of 2.2% in 2004, 2.3% in 2005, and 3.5% in 2006 for a total of 8%; and,
WHEREAS,      the Parish President and the Civil Service Board have approved the Civil Service Pay Plan and it is the desire of the Parish Council to approve said plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby approve the revised Civil Service Pay Plan, effective August 26, 2006.
