Title
A resolution requesting the assistance and support of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development in the priority construction projects of St. Charles Parish.
Body
WHEREAS, the Parish Council firmly believes the following listed issues are priority projects, which will benefit all of the citizens of St. Charles Parish:
I. Construct a Center Turn Lane on US 90 through Paradis
II. Widen LA 50 - Almedia Road, St. Rose from LA 48 to US 61
III. Construct Center Turn Lane on US 90 from Maryland Drive to Coronado Drive West and Reduce Speed Limit
IV. Expedite the installation of a protective barrier along US 61 from I-310 to Norco, in St. Charles Parish
V. Relocation of LA 3060 (Barton Avenue) to a new State route from US 90 to LA 18 at Willowdale Boulevard
VI. Construct a Center Turn Lane on LA 48 from Ormond Plantation to I-310
VII. Install Traffic Control Signal at the intersection of LA 626 and US 61
WHEREAS, the Parish Council is requesting that the Department of Transportation and Development work with St. Charles Parish in accomplishing these projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request the assistance and support of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development in the priority construction projects of St. Charles Parish.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution and attached correspondence be forwarded to Governor Bobby Jindal, U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu, U.S. Senator David Vitter, U.S. Representative Charlie Melancon, Senator Joel T. Chaisson, II, Representative Ernest D. Wooton, Representative Gary L. Smith, Jr., Secretary William D. Ankner, Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, District Administrator Michael Stack, Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
