IN MEMORIAM
WHEREAS, on March 15, 2002, Almighty God, in His Infinite Wisdom, saw fit to call from amongst us one of our beloved citizens, John W. Woodiel, Jr.; and,
WHEREAS, words cannot adequately express or convey the appreciation felt by all of us for the many years of dedicated service rendered by John W. Woodiel, Jr. to St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, John W. Woodiel, Jr. has a special place in the history of St. Charles Parish because of his many years of service first with organizing St. Charles Parish Republican Party in 1965 and serving many years as Chairman of the Parish Republican Executive Committee; and,
WHEREAS, John W. Woodiel, Jr. further honored St. Charles Parish when he was elected in 1968 to serve on the Republican State Central Committee and worked on local, state and national Republican campaigns. In 1984 he attended the Republican National Convention as an Alternate Delegate and was a Member of the Lafourche Basin Levee Commission from 1980 to 1984; and,
WHEREAS, John W. Woodiel, Jr. was a Parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church and was a former Parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Luling, he served on the Construction Committee at both Churches and was an Usher at Holy Family; and,
WHEREAS, John W. Woodiel, Jr. will not only be remembered for his integrity and dedication to public service but for his kind and gentle ways.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, duly assembled on this 8th day of April, 2002, do hereby express our sincere sympathy to the family and friends of

and do hereby convey our gratitude for his years of dedicated public service to the people of St. Charles Parish; and,
