Title
A resolution authorizing the Parish President to sign an $8,000,000 loan from the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality State Revolving Loan Program for the rehabilitation of pump stations, gravity sewers, and lagoon in St. Charles Parish along with the miscellaneous sanitary sewer work.
Body
WHEREAS, the Parish of St. Charles has experienced numerous sanitary sewer overflows (SSO’s) through the sanitary sewer system; and,
WHEREAS, existing gravity sewer pipes are aged and have developed sources of infiltration and inflow; and,
WHEREAS, our present pumps are incapable of transporting our peak wet weather flow; and,
WHEREAS, LDEQ/SRF Program has approved an $8,000,000 loan at 0.95% interest rate for a 20 year period for the Parish of St. Charles, Louisiana.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, hereby authorize the Parish President on behalf of the Parish of St. Charles to (1) secure an $8,000,000 loan from LDEQ/SRF Program for sanitary sewer upgrades to include the rehabilitation of pump stations, gravity sewers, and lagoons along with the miscellaneous sanitary sewer work; and, (2) allow the Parish President to sign all appropriate documents for this loan.
The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
And the resolution was declared adopted this ______ day of ___________, 2016 to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
