IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, the City of Norco, California working closely with Norco Elementary, Highland Elementary, Sierra Vista Elementary, Riverview Elementary, and Norco High School, collected money to help the schools and students of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School, Norco Primary, and Norco Elementary in Norco, Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina; and,
WHEREAS, without the City of Norco's help, this unselfish gesture would never have come to pass, sending a check for over $10,600.00 collected by the local schools in the City of Norco, California to support the schools in their sister City of Norco, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, this unselfish act has actually bonded the two locations separated by over 2,000 miles and forged a friendship that will last for years to come.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
CITY OF NORCO, CALIFORNIA
"PARISH OF PLENTY"
created in 1807 from the county of the
"German Coast", a parish of
unprecedented economic and social
development, known for its
hospitality, rural living and sporting
opportunitiesÂ… with the added
distinction of being located
on both sides of the
Mighty Mississippi River.
