Proclamation: “What Matters“ Month

P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, our Parish is growing and changing almost on a daily basis. New people, new businesses and new services are a matter of great importance and a growing concern to our Parish residents; and,
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Overall Planning Effort (SCOPE), Human Services Focus Group recognizes the importance of providing an equitable allocation and distribution of human services to the residents of St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, in order to effectively allocate local resources, it is necessary to evaluate human services issues and problems, then raise awareness of the needs in St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, during the month of June, a Parish-Wide Community Needs Assessment Survey entitled “What Matters” will be distributed to local citizens; and,
WHEREAS, the anonymous survey will ask residents to rate items according to their importance and according to their current level of availability; and,
WHEREAS, the survey is a very important part of the planning effort to provide programs and services that matter to the citizenry; and,
WHEREAS, survey responses will be analyzed and a final report will be distributed to the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM THE MONTH OF JUNE 2003 AS
“WHAT MATTERS” MONTH
IN
ST. CHARLES PARISH
AND URGE ALL CITIZENS OF THE PARISH TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS VERY IMPORTANT COMMUNITY NEEDS ASSESSMENT SURVEY.
