IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, on Wednesday, October 6, 1999, Edward Ledet risked his life to rescue a fellow friend, Darrin Breaux from the Bayou Gauche Canal along Bayou Gauche Road in Des Allemands; and,
WHEREAS, Darrin Breaux was unconscious and trapped by a four-wheeler with a fractured pelvis and various cuts on his body; and,
WHEREAS, Edward Ledet jumped in to pull Darrin Breaux out of the bayou, risking his own life; and,
WHEREAS, Edward Ledet retained his composure and did not panic when faced with a life threatening situation; and,
WHEREAS, Edward Ledet should be publicly recognized for his unselfish act in risking his own life to save the life of his fellow friend
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, duly assembled on this 18th day of October, 1999, hereby offer this tribute in appreciation and recognition of
EDWARD LEDET
for
his unselfish and courageous act
in rescuing
