Title

An ordinance to amend the Code of Ordinances to revise Chapter 15, Section 15-9. Speed Limits to change the Speed Limit on River Road in Norco from Apple Street to the East Guide Levee of the Bonnet Carre' Spillway from 30 miles per hour to 35 miles per hour.

Body

WHEREAS,      the South Central Planning & Development Commission, working under a Federal Highway Administration Rational Speed Study Grant, has conducted a study of River Road in Norco from Apple Street to the East Guide Levee of the Bonnet Carre' Spillway; and,

WHEREAS,      the Engineering and Traffic Survey results, based on the 85^th percentile standard, recommend that the speed limit on River Road in Norco from Apple Street to the East Guide Levee of the Bonnet Carre' Spillway be changed from 30 mph to 40 mph; and,

WHEREAS,      it is the desire of the Parish Council to implement the results of the Engineering and Traffic Study.

THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION I.      That the Code of Ordinances, Section 15-9, is hereby amended by adding exception No. 46 to read as follows:

(46)      River Road, Norco from Apple Street to the East Guide Levee of the Bonnet Carre' Spillway, speed limit shall be thirty-five (35) miles per hour.
