Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of an Engineering Services Contract with Shread-Kuyrkendall & Associates, Inc. for the design of Parish Project No. P190201, Lakewood Drive Reconstruction.
Body
WHEREAS, Lakewood Drive has been in existence for more than fifty years and is a major collector road servicing 1,400 homes, several businesses, a public library, an elementary school, and three churches; and,
WHEREAS, over the years the road has deteriorated to a point where reconstruction is a more cost effective measure than the continued panel replacement performed in the past; and,
WHEREAS, Department of Public Works has acquired a Federal Highway Administration grant through the Regional Planning Commission to facilitate the reconstruction; and,
WHEREAS, due to the grant's process, an engineering firm is required to facilitate the design and construction management for the project; and,
\WHEREAS, it is important that St. Charles Parish proceed with this project in order to protect the property and well-being of its citizens.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Engineering Services Contract with Shread-Kuyrkenall & Associates Inc. for the design of Parish Project No. P190201, Lakewood Drive Reconstruction is hereby approved and accepted.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Engineering Services Contract on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:

to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
