IN MEMORIAM
WHEREAS, on July 26, 2007, the Almighty God, in His Infinite Wisdom, has seen fit to call from among us one of His most worthy servants, Fire Chief Robert J. Loupe, Sr.; and,
WHEREAS, Chief Loupe was born in New Orleans and as a young man he came to the Norco area to work for his Uncle, who owned the original Loupe's store on Apple Street and was later hired by Shell; and,
WHEREAS, Chief Loupe was a loving husband, married for forty-one years to Faye Lynn Friloux, a loving father and grandfather to their daughter Lisa and son Bobby and their six grandchildren, and he was a dedicated Public Servant; and,
WHEREAS, in 1967 Chief Loupe joined and became a Member of the Norco Area Volunteer Fire Department; he worked his way through the ranks of the Fire Department and on January 1, 1980, he became Fire Chief; and,
WHEREAS, as a young man Chief Loupe made a life-long commitment to serve his neighbor, community, department, and his fellow man, both as a volunteer and also while fulfilling his career at Shell; he set an example of how important it was to serve and give something back; and,
WHEREAS, Chief Loupe served for 40 years as a Volunteer Firefighter, 27 of which he served as the Fire Chief; with a successful and respected career, of which 25 years he served as Assistant Fire Chief for Norco's Shell Oil Fire and Emergency Response Team; and,
WHEREAS, during Chief Loupe's tenure as Fire Chief of the Norco Area Volunteer Fire Department and as Assistant Chief at Shell Oil, he led and influenced us through some of the most challenging, and also successful, times in our history in the fire service. Chief Loupe ushered in a new fire station in Montz, renovated and enlarged the Norco Central Station, and brought a total of nine new emergency response vehicles to the Norco Area; and,
WHEREAS, Chief Loupe will be remembered for his loyalty to his fam...
