Title
A resolution to approve and authorize the execution of an Agreement between the State of Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, Office of State Parks, Division of Outdoor Recreation and St. Charles Parish for Federal funding in the amount of $200,000.00 for Rathborne Park Improvements (formerly known as Continued Development of Rathborne Park), Federal Project No. 22-00929.

WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish submitted an application seeking Federal assistance in the amount of $250,000.00 from the Land and Water Conservation Fund (L&WCF) for Continued Development of Rathborne Park; and,
WHEREAS, on March, 26, 2012, the St. Charles Parish Council adopted Resolution No. 5901 in support of the submission of said application; and,
WHEREAS, by way of a letter dated September 28, 2012, Mr. Cleve Hardman, Alternate State Liaison Officer, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, advised that the St. Charles Parish L&WCF application was selected for funding in the amount of $200,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the development will consist of a baseball field, bleachers, lighting for the trail, baseball fields, and parking lot, a basketball court, a pavilion, picnic tables, a restroom/concession stand/storage building, bike racks, fitness stations, benches, and water fountains; and,
WHEREAS, any wiring covered in this project, or wiring done in the future on this site, must be placed underground; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish has obligated $200,000.00 or fifty percent (50%) of the estimated project cost in matching funds to satisfactorily complete said project and thus become eligible for the L&WCF assistance; and,
WHEREAS, sufficient funds are on hand to fund said project; and,
WHEREAS, the State has prepared an Agreement to provide funding for said projec...
