Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a contract with B&K Construction Co., Inc., for the construction of Parish Project No. P030603, Hackberry Drainage Pump Station, in the total amount of $702,507.71.
Body
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received by St. Charles Parish on December 12, 2003 for Hackberry Drainage Pump Station; and,
WHEREAS, Meyer Engineers, LTD., Consulting Engineers for the Project, have reviewed the bids and recommend that the Contract be awarded to the low bidder, B&K Construction Co., Inc., in the Base Bid amount of $561,017.00; and,
WHEREAS, due to the fact that the Base Bid was under the projected construction cost estimate, Meyer Engineers, LTD., Consulting Engineers for the Project, recommends Alternates 1 and 2 be awarded in the amounts of $75,264.00 and $66,226.71 respectively.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the bid of B&K Construction Co., Inc., for the construction of St. Charles Parish Project No. P030603, Hackberry Drainage Pump Station, be hereby accepted, with Base Bid, Alternate 1, and Alternate 2, in the total amount of $702,507.71.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
