An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a contract with Industrial & Mechanical Contractors, Inc. for Project P090904 Mimosa Drainage Improvements in the amount of $735,156.50.

WHEREAS, sealed bids were received by St Charles Parish December 17, 2014 for Project P090904 Mimosa Drainage Improvements; and,
WHEREAS, Buchart Horn, Inc., the Engineer for the Project has reviewed the bids and recommended that the contract be awarded to the low bidder, Industrial & Mechanical Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $735,156.50 as the base bid; and,
WHEREAS, installation of this project will be a contract comprised of installation of a new drainage pumping station including a 12' x 15' reinforced concrete wet well, two (2) 24" axial flow propeller pumps with 75HP motors, 30" welded steel discharge piping, and all associated site and electrical work; and capacity improvements to the existing drainage system including the installation of 1138 LF of 48" storm drainage pipe, 12 catch basins, 8 junction boxes, 478 LF of ditch grading, and a concrete flume with bar screen; and all associated demolition and restoration work. The project classification is: Heavy Construction. Project is on the West Bank of St. Charles Parish, Louisiana.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the bid of Industrial & Mechanical Contractors, Inc. for the construction of Project P090904 Mimosa Drainage Improvements, be hereby approved and accepted, in the amount of $735,156.50.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Contract on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
