Title
An ordinance to authorize the Parish President to acquire a portion of Lot 18 of Ellington Plantation, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana, which property is more particularly described on the Act of Sale attached hereto and made a part hereof, at a price not to exceed its appraised value of $41,000.00, from Louise P. Ritter and/or all other owners of record, as their interests may appear, said property to be used by St. Charles Parish for drainage purposes, including but not limited to drainage conveyance in connection with the project known as “Coronado Drainage Improvements, Pump Station #1 Improvements”.
Body
WHEREAS, Coronado Park Subdivision in Luling, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana, has a history of severe flooding problems; and,
WHEREAS, An Engineering Drainage Review was made of the Coronado Park Area, which review included recommendations to improve drainage of said area by increasing the capacity of and/or replacing the pump station, and by improving the drainage conveyance system in said area; and,
WHEREAS, the design for the drainage improvement project requires the acquisition of a portion of Lot 18, Ellington Plantation, Luling, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana, particularly a rectangular section of land more particularly hereinafter described on the Act of Sale attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, the drainage project and the acquisition of the hereinafter described property is in furtherance of the public's best interest and purpose, and is in satisfaction of a public need.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to purchase at a price not to exceed its appraised value of $41,000.00 the property more particularly described on the Act of Sale attached hereto and made a part hereof, from Louise P. Ritter, and/or all other owners of record, as their interests...
