Proclamation: “National Health Center Week”

P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, Communities across the country will celebrate National Health Center Week 2023, August 6th - August 12th. Elected Officials will join in recognizing the work health centers do to keep our communities healthy and safe; and,
WHEREAS, Health centers provide preventative and primary care services to over 30 million people and are the first to respond with wrap-around care during disasters and health emergencies. Care is driven by services needed in each unique community and lower health care costs by reducing the rate of chronic diseases and stimulating local economies; and,
WHEREAS, Community Health Centers are not just healers, but are innovators who look beyond medical charts to address factors that may cause poor health, such as poverty, homelessness, substance use, mental illness, and unemployment; and,
WHEREAS, the mission of Community Health Centers remain crucial today because access to basic care remains a challenge to over 100 million people across the country.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY RETROACITVELY PROCLAIM AUGUST 6 - AUGUST 12, 2023 AS
“NATIONAL HEALTH CENTER WEEK”
IN ST. CHARLES PARISH, AND CALL UPON THE PEOPLE OF ST. CHARLES PARISH TO SUPPORT THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER.
