Title
A resolution authorizing the Chairman of the St. Charles Parish Council to execute and forward correspondence to Colonel Thomas F. Julich, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, expressing intent to provide funding for a reconnaissance study of drainage pumping stations in St. Charles Parish.

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 4592 adopted unanimously December 7, 1998, by the Parish Council, requested the Congressional Delegation approve legislation authorizing the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers proceed with the planning, design, and construction of the necessary internal drainage plans for St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, on April 22, 1999, the United States House of Representatives Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, approved Docket 2599, St. Charles Parish Urban Flood Control Study authorizing the reconnaissance study on improvements for flood control and related purposes; and,
WHEREAS, although the Congressional Committee authorized the reconnaissance study, funding for the study was not appropriated; and,
WHEREAS, on October 11, 1999, the members of the St. Charles Parish Council unanimously amended the 2000 Capital Consolidated and Operating Budget to include $100,000.00 for the reconnaissance study.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL do hereby authorize the Chairman of the St. Charles Parish Council to execute and forward correspondence to Colonel Thomas F. Julich, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, expressing intent to provide funding for a reconnaissance study of drainage pumping stations in St. Charles Parish.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Louisiana Congressional Delegation work with Colonel Julich to secure Committee approval of this proposal.
