IN MEMORIAM
WHEREAS, on May 2, 2020, Almighty God, in His Infinite Wisdom, saw fit to call from amongst us one of His most worthy servants, Reverend Kendall Ren? Pierre, Sr.; and,
WHEREAS, Kendall Ren? Pierre, Sr., only begotten, beloved son of Ilean Pierre-Medley and the late Wilfred Randall on May 9, 1974; devoted husband of Sabrina Odom for 24 years; cherished father of Tayler Brishaune, Kendall Ren?, Jr., and Kaden Micah; grandson of Irving Pierre Sr.; and a lifelong resident of Ama, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, Reverend Pierre began his ministry singing in the church choir and serving in the junior deacon ministry, later became fully ordained by Second District Missionary Baptist Association of Louisiana in 2001. He served as Interim Pastor and was installed as Senior Pastor of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Ama, on January 9, 2009; and,
WHEREAS, Reverend Pierre served with a spirit of excellence for eleven years, expanding Mt. Zion ministries greatly, always reminding the church of its duty to exalt the Savior, equip the saints, and ultimately enhance society. He worked diligently to make Christ known in every capacity and became a beloved pillar in the community; and,
WHEREAS, Reverend Pierre was an assistant head coach of the Hahnville High School boys basketball team, and head coach of the Southeast Louisiana Warriors Elite Mentoring Program, a sports and mentoring program focused on developing the talent and character of young African American men; and,
WHEREAS, Reverend Pierre discovered his love for barbering at a young age, and later became a Master Barber and Operator of Pierre's Barber and Beauty Salon in Ama; and,
WHEREAS, Reverend Pierre served as a mentor to local youth, Chaplin at various assisted care and living facilities, Wedding Officiant and singer for countless couples, and personal counselor and role model for citizens and leaders...
