Title
An Emergency ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 91-5-16, as subsequently amended, and Ordinance No. 99-1-2 which established and defined the 1990 visible precinct boundaries to clarify that Precinct 3-1 includes an alpha split of 3-1A and 3-1B.
Body
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 99-1-2 adopted by the Parish Council on January 4, 1999, adopted the Precinct descriptions of precinct 3-1 and precinct 3-2; and,
WHEREAS, said Ordinance did not clearly state that precinct 3-1 includes an alpha split of precinct 3-1A and 3-1B; and,
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Elections Office has requested that this matter be clarified prior to December 31, 2001, to ensure compliance with Louisiana Revised Statutes.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That Ordinance No. 99-1-2 is hereby amended in Section I under the description of Precinct 3-1 to add:
Precinct 3-1 (A-G)
Precinct 3-1A (H-Q)
Precinct 3-1B (R-Z)
SECTION II. That all other sections of said Ordinance shall remain as first adopted.
