IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Chief Reginald Gaubert, a native of Luling, Louisiana, is a life-long resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Hahnville with his wife Jami. He is the proud father of two daughters, Dawn Landry, married to Jack, Tonya Satterlee, married to Evan, one step-son, Dalton Tregre, and two grandsons Jackson Landry and Braedon Satterlee; and,
WHEREAS, Chief Gaubert started his career in firefighting with the Luling Volunteer Fire Department in 1972. He served as a Captain for 12 years before moving to Hahnville. He joined the Hahnville Volunteer Fire Department in May of 1984 and was elected Fire Chief in 1988; and,
WHEREAS, Chief Gaubert is a retired maintenance mechanic with 26 years from Shell Chemical and received training throughout his industrial career in industrial firefighting, incident command, and as an Emergency Medical Technician. He also served as an EMT until 2004 and is now a First Responder; and,
WHEREAS, Chief Gaubert is a member of the Parish Rapid Assessment Team (PRAT), Communications District (911) Board representing the Fire Association, Economic Development Committee (EDC), Industrial Mutual Aid Group, serves as a fire service representative for the Emergency Operations Center, an instructor for the St. Charles Sheriff's Department Post Academy, Secretary/Treasurer for the St. Charles Parish Firemen's Association, is a member of the State Fire Chief Association, the State Firefighters Association, and the Volunteer Chief Officers Section of the International Association of Fire Chiefs; and,
WHEREAS, throughout his career, Chief Gaubert has witnessed the completion of Station 32 in Hahnville and several other major equipment purchases; he has written several grants to help the Hahnville Volunteer Fire Department receive grant money for maintaining and purchasing necessary equipment; and,
