Title
A resolution asking the Parish Council to support forwarding a letter for an opinion from the Attorney General on whether the Community Services Department Employees can be included in the St. Charles Parish Civil Service System based on guidelines in the St. Charles Parish Home Rule Charter.
Body
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish is a local governmental subdivision as defined by Article VI, Section 44 of the Louisiana Constitution of 1974; and
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish operates under a Home Rule Charter which has a classified Civil Service System as specified in Article III, Section C, Administrative Departments, Offices and Agencies, Number 5, Civil Service System; and
WHEREAS, employees' salaries of St. Charles Parish's Community Services Department are partially funded by Parish Money and Federal/State Money.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby support forwarding a letter for an opinion from the Attorney General on whether the Community Services Department Employees can be included in the St. Charles Parish Civil Service System based on guidelines in the St. Charles Parish Home Rule Charter.
