An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a professional service multi-phase project engineering contract with PRINCIPAL ENGINEERING, INC., for providing all necessary professional, engineering services to design and oversee the construction of Parish Project Number P180301- ST. ROSE DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT FAIRFIELD & OAKLAND.

WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Council desires to have the following project undertaken:
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
In order to improve drainage conditions in St. Rose, an examination & eventual replacement of the existing Fairfield & Oakland Drainage Pumping Stations is required. For immediate improvement, discharge pipes will need to be installed under the railroad adjacent to the existing pumping stations. The project scope is to install two 36-inch casings complete with 24" steel carrier pipe beneath the railroad embankment for drainage discharge at each pump station location tying into the existing pumps. The existing, uncased discharge pipes will be filled with grout and abandoned in-place. The proposed cased discharges will be required to serve the existing pump stations as well as be utilized for the future pump stations when the existing stations are decommissioned. The alignment of the discharges that most cost effectively serves both existing and future conditions will be designed; and,
WHEREAS, the engineering services for Parish Project Number P180301 will include but will not be limited to serving as St. Charles Parish's professional engineering representative for the project; providing professional engineering consultation and advice, furnishing all required civil, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control engineering design services and supplementary services; providing for construction inspection and administration; closing out each construction project including furnishing sta...
