IN   RECOGNITION
 
WHEREAS,      Katherine Kain is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Destrehan, Louisiana with her parents Lloyd and Connie Kain and sister Emily; and,
WHEREAS,      Katherine is a senior at Destrehan High School; and,
WHEREAS,      Katherine has been active on the varsity volleyball team for four years and helped this years team earn the district title; a member of the varsity softball team for three years; this years baseball team manager; and coaches 11-12 year-olds in softball for the Parish Recreation League; and,
WHEREAS,      Katherine takes honors classes; has been involved in Students Against Drunk Driving for four years; Fellowship of Christian Athletes; Prom Committee; television production; and she also works part-time at Cypress CafĂ©; and,
WHEREAS,      Katherine has achieved many accomplishments despite her early childhood diagnosis of cystic fibrosis; and,
WHEREAS,      Katherine plans to attend either Louisiana State University or Southeastern Louisiana University majoring in Biological Science, with future plans of being a Pediatrician; and,
WHEREAS,      Katherine has been named the St. Charles Rotary Club's East Bank Young Person of the Year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
