Title
A resolution in support of the application to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for a Bicycle Transportation Route in St. Charles Parish.
Body
WHEREAS, the Parish has contracted with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers to design Bicycle Transportation Routes on the Mississippi River Levees; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fund the construction of this project an application is being submitted to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for a local enhancement grant as authorized by the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21); and,
WHEREAS, the Parish is committed to provide a five-percent local match for this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby approve and support the St. Charles Parish application for a Bicycle Transportation Route on the Mississippi River Levee and do hereby commit to provide a five-percent local match for the project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to secure said funds.
