IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, LaRon Landry is a resident of Ama, Louisiana in St. Charles Parish. His parents are Frank and Rhonda Landry, and his two brothers are Dawan and Derick, and is the proud father of daughter Trinity; and,
WHEREAS, LaRon is a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Ama; and,
WHEREAS, LaRon is a 2003 graduate of Hahnville High School where he was ranked as the 5th athlete in America, and is currently attending LSU in Baton Rouge majoring in Mass Communication on an athletic scholarship; and has been on the SEC Academic Honor Roll; and,
WHEREAS, LaRon started at LSU as a true Freshman starting as Cornerback and settled in as Free Safety, playing in all 14 games with 10 starts. He led the Tigers in tackles with 80, including 3.5 for losses. He was named 2003 First-Team Freshman All-American, 2003 Second-Team All-SEC, and 2003 Freshman All-SEC; and,
WHEREAS, as a Sophomore, LaRon led the LSU Tigers in tackles for the second straight year, he was named second team All-SEC by the league's coaches in 2004 after recording 92 tackles and 3 sacks for LSU, had 4 games of 10 tackles or more with a season best of 14 against Vanderbilt.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
