IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Paige Bourgeois is a resident of St. James Parish residing in Gramercy, Louisiana with her parents Kyle and Denise Bourgeois, and her brother, Peyton; and,
WHEREAS, Paige is currently attending Louisiana State University majoring in Chemistry with a 3.2 GPA and works as a sandwich artist at Subway; and,
WHEREAS, Paige is a member and volunteers for several organizations including Give Kids the World Foundation in Orlando, Florida, the Festival of Charities Committee, St. James Parish Humane Society and Relay for Life, volunteered at the DSAGNO Buddy Walk, the Arc of St. Charles Festival, sold roses at several festivals for Cystic Fibrosis and collected raffles at the St. Charles Golf Extravaganza; and,
WHEREAS, Paige was invited to be a member of two National Leadership Societies Phi Sigma Pi and Sigma Alpha Pi, she sang the National Anthem at the Little League World Series and various other functions, received 2nd place in East St. James Farm Bureau Talent Competition, and was a maid for the DuMonde Ball; and,
WHEREAS, Paige enjoys singing, scrapbooking, organizing, shopping, musical theatre, traveling, doing makeup, volunteering, and being a mentor for her friends and family; and,
WHEREAS, Paige was crowned Miss Queen of the St. Charles Parish Relay for Life Pageant held Saturday, January 18, 2014, at the John L. Dorsey Multi-Purpose Center in Boutte, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society's signature activity uniting communities to celebrate cancer survivors, remember people who lost their battle to the disease, and honor those still fighting while raising awareness and funds for the fight against cancer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
