Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a contract with Volute, Inc. for Project No. P100301-2 to Install Control Gates on Culverts at Prescott Pump Station in the amount of $93,438.00.
Body
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received by St. Charles Parish on October 28, 2010 for Project No. P100301-2 to Install Control Gates on Culverts at Prescott Pump Station; and,
WHEREAS, Evans-Graves Engineers, Inc., the engineer for the project, has reviewed the bids and recommend that the contract be awarded to the low bidder, Volute, Inc., in the amount of $93,438.00; and,
WHEREAS, these gates will improve control of tidal flow into the area being pumped by the Prescott Pump Station and eliminate the Department of Public Works from having to dam off the culverts running under Highway 61 during high incoming tides on a continuing temporary basis.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the bid of Volute, Inc., for the construction of Project No. P100301-2 to Install Control Gates on Culverts at Prescott Pump Station be hereby accepted in the amount of $93,438.00.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of St Charles Parish.
