Title
An ordinance to request a temporary change of the Polling Places for all Elections held between January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022, for Precincts 1-2, 1-2A, 3-3, and 6-8.
Body
WHEREAS, the Parish Council adopted Ordinance No. 21-10-1 on October 4, 2021, approving an Emergency Ordinance to request a temporary change of the Polling Places for the Louisiana Constitutional Amendments and Parishwide Proposition Election held on November 13, 2021 for the Precincts of 1-2, 1-2A, 2-3, 3-3, 4-1, 4-1A, 6-1, 6-4, and 6-8; and,
WHEREAS, as a result of Hurricane Ida and the damage sustained to certain Polling Places, temporary changes are required to facilitate any elections held between January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022, for Precincts 1-2, 1-2A, 3-3, and 6-8; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Parish Council to request the Secretary of State approve said temporary changes to the Polling Places.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That temporary changes to the following Polling Places for all Elections held between January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022, is hereby approved:
Precincts 1-2 & 1-2A
From: Hahnville Learning Center, 626 Pine Street, Hahnville, LA
To: Eual J. Landry, Sr. Middle School, 108 Tiger Circle, Hahnville, LA
Precinct 3-3
From: Destrehan High School, # 1 Wildcat Drive, Destrehan, LA
To: Ethel Schoeffner Elementary School, 140 Plantation Road, Destrehan, LA
Precinct 6-8
From: Destrehan High School, #1 Wildcat Drive, Destrehan, LA
To: Ethel Schoeffner Elementary School, 140 Plantation Road, Destrehan, LA
The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
And the ordinance was declared adopted this ______ day of ____________, 2021, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
