Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a Construction Contract with LA Contracting Enterprise, LLC for Project No. P080802-1, Montz Drainage Plan Implementation - Thoroughbred Ave. Culvert Replacement Project in the amount of $259,865.00.
Body
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received by St. Charles Parish on April 15, 2010 for Project No. P080802-1, Montz Drainage Plan Implementation - Thoroughbred Ave. Culvert Replacement Project; and,
WHEREAS, Krebs, LaSalle, LeMieux Consultants, Inc., the Engineer for the Project, has reviewed the bids and recommend that the Contract be awarded to the low bidder, LA Contracting Enterprise, LLC, in the amount of $259,865.00; and,
WHEREAS, the existing storm water drainage through the Coulee Canal in Montz is restricted by and undersized culvert at the crossing of Thoroughbred Ave., increased culvert capacity is required to provide additional flow capacity to allow the Coulee Canal to adequately drain storm water runoff in the Montz area.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the bid of LA Contracting Enterprise, LLC, for the culvert replacement in the Coulee Canal at Thoroughbred Ave under Project No. P080802-1, Montz Drainage Plan Implementation - Thoroughbred Ave. Culvert Replacement Project, is hereby approved and accepted, in the amount of $259,865.00.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the Parish of St. Charles.

The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
And the ordinance was declared adopted this ______ day of ___________, 2010 to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
