IN   RECOGNITION

 

WHEREAS,                     Ms. Myra Edgar Brown, is a resident of St. John the Baptist Parish residing in LaPlace, Louisiana; and, 

 

WHEREAS,                     Ms. Brown’s Creole Gumbo recipe was selected to be published in the 2015 September/October issue of the Louisiana Cookin Magazine; and,

 

WHEREAS,                     Louisiana Cookin Magazine is the only national magazine for the connoisseur of Louisiana’s unique culture, cuisine, and travel destinations.  It is published six times a year with each issue containing more than 50 authentic recipes, with tips from professional chefs and home cooks alike; and,

 

WHEREAS,                     Ms. Brown is the first Tri-Parish Homemaker Chef to be placed in the magazine; and,

 

WHEREAS,                     Ms. Brown’s Creole Gumbo has placed first in several contests, including the most recent Gumbo Cook-Off at the 2014 Andouille Festival held in LaPlace, Louisiana on October 18, 2014.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby extend congratulations and best wishes to

 

MYRA EDGAR BROWN
